A Morbid Run!

After a long day at school including 2 hours of patient encounter scenarios complete with video, timed SOAP notes, and patient feedback (read: kind insults), I went for a run along the ocean.

The ocean was unusually calm. I mean almost glass-smooth which it almost never is here. It seems that the lack of any waves for 24 hours allowed for anything dead in the ocean to show up on the exact beach I was running on. I mean it was a carnage run.

1 dead dog (I think), 3 dead seagulls, 1 dead seal, 2 dead big fish, and lots of crustaceans that seem to have had better days. It was certainty entertaining.

Why am I writing about this to you all?

No clue.

Maybe you're writing it for us to read so we can share some of the burden of too much death & sadness. I can barely stand to pass one dead thing on the road during a drive.

On a lighter note, have you explored Pandora? I've used it a couple of times during the past but for some reason only fell in love tonight. You can tailor your own radio station to play songs/artists similar to ones you already like. I threw a few artists into my like list & magically like most of the songs Pandora has flagged as similar!

pmk hater-
I will try and get up there soon. I can't this weekend-helping take care of the farm since mom is in europe. I would bike with you more often but last time I came up I put you in the ground and you could not bike for a month. I don't want you trying to keep up and hurt yourself again.

mg-
been using pandora but eventually things start to repeat. I could type in another artist, which I do, but even my similar artists come up with similar tracks. I really like it but lately I have been listening to the various internet radio stations that are organized by genre on itunes. Itunes radio is another great music resource.

cheers

I believe you have become much bigger over the last few months-med school is killing your health. My shoulder is just starting to come around.

Your blog has been somewhat interesting of late. I am sure you were pleased with Palin's performance in the "debate"- deep down you know you dig on her and her joe 6-pack theories.

Thanks for the radio tips. I've never even heard of iTunes radio! One more reason to keep up w/the young folks. :-) I haven't had too many Pandora repeats yet but when I do I use the "don't repeat for a month" feature & add more artists.
